Where do I teach?
At Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I teach science in an immersion program in an American public middle school.
I fly over all branches of science (Physical and chemical science for the 6th grade, Life Science for the 7th grade, and Environmental Science and Geology for the 8th grade). Of course all my courses are done in French but the end-of-year exams are in English.
Every morning I welcome the 6th graders in Advisory and during these 45 minutes we are doing French activities (writing, reading,..) but also visual art.
Who are my students?
My students are coming from an elementary magnet school called : Baton Rouge FLAIM and some of my students are coming from the international school of Baton Rouge. The majority of them are American. I have, however, three French (one of them is my son) and one Canadian students this year.
They are therefore immersed in French language and French culture since kindergarten.
